AutoHunter Spotlight: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe

Right now on AutoHunter, you can find this restored 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe. It’s powered by a 383ci stroker V-8 crate engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Smoke Silver with white stripes over a black leather interior, this classic pony car is now offered by a private seller in Colorado with a custom car cover, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner, and clear title. The video below shows an exterior walk-around, running engine , and driving footage.

In 2018, the color of the body was changed from the original Butternut Yellow to the current combination of Smoke Silver with white stripes. Exterior features include chrome bumpers, Cowl Induction hood, driver-side mirror, dark window tint, rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets with electric cutouts.

A classic car looks great on a classic-looking set of wheels, and this first-gen Camaro has them: 15-inch Cragar S/S mags wrapped in 215/65 (front) and 295/50 (rear) BFGoodrich radials. If you can look past the shiny spokes, you’ll see a set of power four-wheel disc brakes.

Inside, there are several updated features. Those include black leather bucket front seats, Grant GT steering wheel connected to power steering, Bluetooth-compatible Kenwood AM/FM/USB/AUX stereo, modern speakers, and floor-mounted B&M automatic shifter, along with a pair of cupholders.

The instrumentation has also been updated to a set from Auto Meter that includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. An Equus 8,000-rpm tachometer is attached to the steering column. The digital odometer shows 3,787 miles, but the title indicates this vehicle is mileage-exempt.

Under the hood is a newer 383ci V-8 crate engine equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, upgraded intake manifold, MSD electronic ignition, and aluminum radiator. According to the seller, the engine produces 480 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. A three-speed automatic sends the engine’s output to the newer 4.10:1 rear end.

Don’t let your first bid on this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe be the end of the road. Keep bidding on it until the auction ends on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (PDT).
