Meyers Manx Teases Mystery Model Ahead of Monterey Car Week

Monterey Car Week hasn’t even started yet, but the rumors are already taking off—literally. Instagram user @horsepower_hunters spotted something unusual being loaded into the cargo hold of their plane at Heathrow: a mystery vehicle from Meyers Manx.

At first glance, the taillights hinted at the classic dune buggy maker’s handiwork. But this wasn’t a model anyone recognized. A closer look at the UK registration plate—KT05 YPG—traced back to an orange 2005 3.6-liter Porsche. Zooming in revealed “Meyers Man1” or similar lettering on the side, suggesting something very different is about to hit the show stand in California.

Why This Is Big News

Meyers Manx, famous for its fiberglass dune buggies and California beach culture image, has been enjoying a resurgence in recent years. With EV concepts and modernized designs already in the pipeline, a Porsche-powered creation could mark a bold new chapter for the brand.

What We Might See in Monterey

While there’s no official confirmation, the clues point to:

  • Porsche flat-six power — possibly air-cooled or from a 996-generation 911.

  • Updated bodywork — still retro-inspired but with more aggressive proportions.

  • Performance focus — likely positioned as a halo model for the brand.

Monterey Car Week kicks off next week, but with sightings like this, it’s clear the big reveals have already begun.
