If you’re still lamenting the loss of Dodge V-8 muscle cars, and the Six Pack Charger is not cutting it for your sensibilities, then Dodge may have the antidote for you. A Hemi Charger? No, we can’t guarantee that yet, but we can give you reason to be excited for the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, including the first time the 392 makes a showing on this platform.

In some ways, it feels like 1978, several years after Dodge ditched its muscle cars and focused on personal luxury kitsch … and then along came the Li’l Red Express Truck, a muscle truck that gained a reputation for being America’s acceleration king, outclassing several impressive cars in an unimpressive era. Dodge reformulated that spirit for the millennium with the 2004-06 Dodge Ram SRT-10, a 500-horsepower barnstormer that could be considered the ultimate tow vehicle for a Viper.

For 2027, Ram will be launching four 1500 Rumble Bee pickups for an all-new pickup performance segment. “The new Rumble Bee lineup appeals to customers who love American muscle, may already have a muscle car and want a pickup that fits their lifestyle,” says Ram. Sounds like the whole American population, amirite? Here are the four muscle pickups:
- Rumble Bee with the 345ci Hemi V-8 offering 395 horsepower
- Rumble Bee 392 with 470 horsepower
- Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack with several performance upgrades
- Supercharged Rumble Bee SRT with a resounding 777 horsepower

“There was a time when pick-up trucks were considered work vehicles. Today, Ram has a truck for every customer — from the work-ready Tradesman to full-blown luxury in Tungsten. That kind of range makes it hard to predict the second vehicle for a customer. But, for muscle car owners’ data proves it’s a pickup and the connection has been staring us in the face since the era reignited almost two decades ago,” says Tim Kuniskis, head of American Brands, SRT Performance and North America Marketing at Stellantis. “Somehow, the idea of muscle trucks was labeled unnecessary, but since that describes so many products that captivated enthusiast’s hearts, minds and wallets, Ram is going all-in — pushing for the last tenth with a full-range of Rumble Bee Muscle Trucks.”

(We hope that is another way of saying, “We know we screwed up, but we’re listening to you and — guess what? — here’s a placeholder for the time being!”)
Every Rumble Bee features an exclusive combination of Quad Cab short bed for improved handing dynamics and appearance, with a wheelbase reduction of 13 inches. Also included is full-time active four-wheel drive via a Borg Warner 48-11 transfer case with a variable torque split. Press a button next to the console shifter and that will disconnect the front axle for true rear-wheel-drive operation.
As you can imagine, each Rumble Bee builds off the previous one. The base Rumble Bee has got the goodies to run like a good 340 Demon, but some people live in a “more is better” world — the Rumble Bee 392 was built for them. A larger engine, larger valves, and upgraded crank are part of the package.

Still left wanting? The Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack blurs the line between the previous and the next — add an electronic spool differential and you will be the bane of cul-de-sac inhabitants everywhere. And that’s not where it ends with the Track Pack, as one can order air suspension that (when combined with the dedicated track driving mode) allows the chassis to match the engine’s performance. Bigger brakes are included to counter the wheel revolutions. And it wouldn’t be a muscle Mopar without dedicated launch control.

All this heavy-duty stuff requires cooling, and the 392 Track Pack features numerous aerodynamic aids to route air to the right places (not to mention they give the big performer a slicker profile). There’s 192 pounds of positive downforce generated at 170 mph assisted by four primary elements: a 4.5-inch front splitter, a front aero shield beneath the engine, integrated ducts on the front fascia, and a rear spoiler. An optional tonneau cover increases structural rigidity and limits deflection under pressure to manage airflow more predictably.
And that “the next” hinted at above? Yeah, the Rumble Bee SRT has many of the same features as the Track Pack, but with a nod to NASCAR (if not the top Challengers of recent memory) to become the most track-capable truck in the world. With 777 horsepower, a chassis claimed to be mission-specific, and more, it’ll hit 3.4 seconds in the 0-60 sprint, run 11.6 ETs, and have a “targeted” top speed of 170. Behemoth 325/40R22 all-season tires are mounted on 22 x 12-inch wheels. It is bound to be the ultimate pickup truck for the ages.
You can find plenty of information on all four models on Stellantis’ website. If you’re content to wait until they hit dealerships, then prepare for a respite of several months because the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee will appear late in 2026, with the two Rumble Bee 392s and the Rumble Bee SRT reaching dealerships several months later in 2027.
