AutoHunter Spotlight: 1971 Chevrolet El Camino

Right now on AutoHunter, you can find this 1971 Chevrolet El Camino, which is powered by a 454ci V-8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in red over a black cloth interior, this car/truck hybrid is now offered by the selling dealer in Oregon with a clear title.

As part of a cosmetic restoration, the color of the exterior was changed from the original combination of Sandalwood with a Dark Brown vinyl top to the current red with black hood stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, bright trim, 1972 parking lights, SS 454 badging, driver-side mirror, snap-on tonneau cover, bed and tailgate liners, and dual exhaust outlets.

Like many classic Chevys, this El Camino looks great on a set of Rally wheels; the ones you see here measure 15 inches in diameter and come wrapped in 255/60 Goodyear Eagle RH raised-white-letter radial tires.

The original Dark Saddle bench seat was replaced with a pair of black cloth buckets. Interior features include a tilt steering column, power steering, clock, Soundstream AM/FM/cassette stereo, and floor-mounted B&M T-handle automatic shifter.

Inside the gauge cluster is a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. To the left of the steering column is an Equus Pro Tach 8,000-rpm tachometer; under the dash are VDO voltage and oil pressure gauges, and an Equus temperature gauge. The odometer shows 17,629 miles, but this El Camino is mileage-exempt, according to its title.

An aftermarket 454ci big-block V-8 with four-barrel carburetor and three-speed automatic are ready to haul whatever is in the bed. Power front disc and rear drum brakes will help make sure that it gets to its destination safely.

If you want this 1971 Chevrolet El Camino to get to your driveway, bid on it now because the auction ends on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 12:45 p.m. (PDT).
