Do you see a lot of off-road trucks and SUVs around you when you’re in traffic? There’s a good chance that you just nodded your head because Jeep Wranglers and Ford F-150 Raptors are common sights these days. You can expect to see even more adventure vehicles if you go to the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas Nov. 3-6, including Nissan‘s highly modified Frontier, Pathfinder, and Armada concepts.
As Nissan puts it, the one-offs are “designed to signpost the ways future Nissan vehicles will deliver even more of the rugged style and performance customers desire” and “intended to inspire today’s passionate owners to accessorize their own vehicles for outdoor adventure.”

Nissan is always thinking of ways to take the Frontier midsize truck further. At SEMA last year, Nissan showcased the Frontier Rapid Runner, equipped with a two-inch body lift, Yokohama Geolandar X-MT tires, Nismo Gear solar panels, and a Nismo Off Road roof rack for white-water rafting. The Frontier Pro-4X R by Roush, also introduced in 2025, combines subtle visual changes with a Roush Performance x Öhlins two-inch suspension lift, Roush Red front upper control arms, and Roush Performance x Öhlins 2.0 off-road shocks with remote reservoirs. Back in May of this year, the Nissan Frontier Ultimate Build debuted at Overland Expo West complete with Nismo rock sliders, heavy-duty winch, auxiliary lighting, and a bed-mounted pop-up camper.

Nissan’s Frontier build for the 2026 SEMA Show is called the Ronin concept. Named after the Japanese word for masterless warrior, the Ronin was customized for high-speed off-roading (like the Ford Ranger Raptor). As you’d expect, it comes equipped with suspension upgrades, which come courtesy of the defunct Titan full-size truck, that lift the Ronin more than four inches and expand the track width by an entire foot. Of course, there are wheel and tire upgrades as well: prototype 17-inch Nismo Ascend beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar X-AT rubber.

But the most interesting change to the Ronin is the pair of turbos attached to the 3.8-liter V-6. Nissan doesn’t state how much power they add, but expect total output to be well north of the regular Frontier’s 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque.

The Pathfinder started out 40 years ago as a body-on-frame SUV, but it’s been a unibody vehicle for more than a decade. Although the Pathfinder XE-V6 concept doesn’t change that, it does honor the original with retro “XE-V6” badging and pays homage to the 1980s Patrol SUVs with its black, charcoal, and silver stripes.

A four-inch suspension lift kit, Yokohama Geolandar off-road tires on 18-inch prototype Nismo wheels, custom high-clearance bumpers, and a roof rack enable the XE-V6 concept to find paths that are far away from mall parking lots.
When Nissan unveiled the third-generation Armada full-size SUV in September 2024, one thing in particular stood out: For the first time ever, it would be available in the outdoorsy Pro-4X trim, which added all-terrain tires, better approach angle, underbody skid plates, and an electronic locking differential.

As interesting as the Armada Pro-4X is, it’s not nearly as head-turning as the Armada Jungle Patrol concept. During the “extensive, expedition-style transformation,” Nissan chopped off the roof, installed a tubular roll cage, and swapped out the rear seats for two rows of inward-facing benches.

A long-travel suspension setup, 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar tires, and Nismo Off Road lights allow the entire safari party inside to see more of the great outdoors.

All of Nissan’s 2026 SEMA Show concepts are cool in their own ways, but I have to give the edge to the Armada Jungle Patrol Concept because it’s just so over the top (even though it doesn’t have one), which is how a SEMA build should be. Which one is your favorite? Tell us in the Comments section.
