More Lincoln vehicles will be built in the U.S. starting in 2030, phasing out imports from China. This announcement comes on the heels of a federal backlash and increased tariffs on imports from the “Middle Kingdom,” though Ford Motor Company says that this will “further strengthen [its] position as America’s No. 1 auto producer.”

“Lincoln is a quintessentially American brand, and Ford is America’s automaker. This wasn’t necessarily the easiest path,” says Ford CEO and President Jim Farley. “In fact, it’s a path most of our competitors aren’t choosing to take. But Ford builds in America because we believe in America, and we’re betting on that belief again.”
At the moment, only two models in Lincoln’s American portfolio are built in the United States: The Aviator is built at Ford’s Chicago assembly plant, and the Navigator is built in Louisville, Kentucky. Both models are sold domestically and exported to Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East. Lincoln’s best-selling model, the Nautilus, and the Corsair are currently built in China, but the two will return to U.S. plants in four years.

Among American automakers, Ford finished 2025 as the top manufacturer in U.S. vehicle assembly (more than 2 million units), U.S. vehicle exports, and the most hourly U.S.-based autoworkers (approximately 56,300 workers) out of any automaker.
