Cake designers looking to fulfill a custom order will use Chantilly cream as the frosting or filling. This whipped cream, sweetened and often flavored with vanilla, is said to have been invented by legendary maître d’hôtel François Vatel at a grand royal banquet hosted by Prince de Condé at the Château de Chantilly during the 17th century. Like a custom cake, it takes precision, design, and artistry to create the 2026 Bugatti Brouillard, which was presented to its new owner at Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille 2026.

At the September 13th concours, you’d find over 900 cars represented by over 40 automotive manufacturers during the event’s “Garden Party.” One that stood out was the one-of-one Bugatti Brouillard, which took home the coveted Best of Show Concept Cars, Restomods & One-Offs award.

Designed as part of Programme Solitaire, Bugatti’s custom design studio, the Brouillard was created to highlight the marque’s aerodynamic philosophy. The exterior includes air intakes that channel airflow through the radiators for maximum cooling and a fixed ducktail wing that helps to ensure balance at high speeds. Power comes from a 1,600-horsepower quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16 that helps it achieve a top speed of 236 mph.

Inside are custom-woven tartan fabrics locally sourced from Paris that complement the green-tinted carbon fiber and machined aluminum components. The bucket seats are divided by a center spine that holds a gear shifter featuring a glass insert showing Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse that also serves as the inspiration for the model’s name.

A vehicle visibly striking inside and out, this Brouillard makes it easy to see why Bugatti used it as a focal point for its presence at Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille 2026 — much in the same way that guests at a wedding stop to admire a custom cake.
