As humans, we look for patterns to make things easier to understand. The pattern to the top 10 sales on the first day of the Barrett-Jackson 2026 Columbus Auction was completely clear and made it obvious that American cars and trucks were in demand.
A 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350-H Convertible Re-creation with a rebuilt four-barrel 289ci V-8 took the top spot, followed by a 1966 427 Roadster Re-creation. Modern Mustang and classic Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac GTO fans put those performance machines in the top five.
The second half of the top 10 was a mix of hardtops, drop-tops, and even a truck, which included a 1966 Ford Mustang, 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible, 1968 Cadillac De Ville Convertible, and a 1941 Hudson Big Boy Pickup. Despite their differences, those vehicles had three things in common: American red, white, and blue.
