Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone! I’m currently in El Paso, Texas visiting family and friends. I don’t know what you have planned, but I do know what you’re doing right now: checking out the latest installment of Car Connections. If this is your first time, I’ll explain how it works: I have a trio of words from the Random Word Generator, and then I use my knowledge of trivia and random/useless information to link them to autos in some way. Mayor: King. The 1982 Martin Scorcese movie “The King of Comedy.” Robert De Niro. The 2002 comedy “Analyze That,” which at one point finds De Niro’s character, mafioso Paul Vitti, working in an Audi dealership. When he fails to sell a Lexus-owning couple a D2-generation S8, let’s just say he doesn’t “fuhgeddaboudit.”

Agent: Jeremy Piven’s character Ari Gold (a Hollywood agent) from the HBO show “Entourage.” Gold. National Corvette Museum Hall of Fame member Dick Guldstrand, who was known for racing and modifying Corvettes. One of the ‘Vettes he souped up was the C5, which he turned into a Guldstrand Signature Edition. The treatment included an Anniversary Gold and Cobalt Blue paint scheme, body kit, power-dome hood, gold and blue leather and suede interior, and 6.9-liter V-8 built by Katech.
